PilotTracker Client Privacy Policy

Last updated: 01.09.2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the PilotTracker Client mobile application (package com.octys.pilottracker, also shown as PilotTracker) accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares information, including location data. The app is provided by PILOT (Pilot GPS, https://pilot-gps.com).

What the app does

PilotTracker Client turns the smartphone into a GPS tracker. When tracking is started, the app collects the device’s location and transmits it to a tracking server so that movements can be shown in the PILOT monitoring platform (or another server URL you configure).

The default tracking server is http://tracker.pilot-gps.com:20059. You can change the Server URL in the app settings. Data is sent to the server you specify.

Location

We access, collect, and use location data. This includes both precise location and approximate location (Android ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION).

Location is read from the mobile device itself: GPS, Wi‑Fi, and network-based location. Together with coordinates the app may send time, speed, course, altitude, accuracy, and satellite count.

Background location. PilotTracker Client collects and transmits location data to the specified server to enable tracking of device movements even when the application is closed or not in use (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION and a location foreground service). Tracking continues after reboot if you have started the service. You can stop tracking at any time in the app.

We use this location data only to provide tracking, maps, and related monitoring features on the configured server. We do not share location data with advertising companies.

Other data we collect

If offline buffering is enabled, positions are stored locally on the device until they can be sent, then removed from the local buffer after a successful send.

Google Play builds may send crash and diagnostic events through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to keep the app stable. The advertising ID (AD_ID) is not collected: the app disables Google advertising ID collection.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

How we use data

Data is used to operate tracking: identify the device, send positions to the server, show service status, and diagnose failures. Location is not used for advertising or ads personalization.

Sharing

Location and related tracking data are transmitted to the tracking server URL configured in the app (by default a PILOT tracker endpoint). The operator of that server (you, your organization, or PILOT) can see the device on the map according to that server’s access rules.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertising networks. Google Play builds may share crash/diagnostic data with Firebase as described above.

Advertising

No ad companies collect data through PilotTracker Client for ad targeting. The app does not show ads and does not use the advertising ID.

Access, control, and deletion

You control tracking by starting or stopping the service in the app and by granting or revoking location permissions in Android settings. You can change or clear the device identifier and server URL in the app.

Data already sent to a tracking server is stored there under that server’s retention rules. To request deletion of personal data held by PILOT, email support@pilot-gps.com.

Security

Transmission uses the protocol and URL you configure (HTTP or HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed against every attack or human error. Information may be stored or processed on servers in any country where PILOT or the configured tracking server operates.

Special situations

We may disclose information: (1) with your consent, (2) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, (3) to protect our rights or property, or (4) to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
